New Years Resolutions

The lie all of us innocently tell 

Inspirational thoughts blinding us saying this year we will excel

Bullet points waiting to be ticked off

Oh I couldn’t complete it this year as the virus gave me a horrid cough

Next year will be the year. We say.

Few make it whereas the rest get lost along the way

I scribble down a couple more bullet points 

Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven...

I can already feel a change. Positivity flowing through me.

Six, Five, Four...

This year is mine. I can feel an overwhelming rush of productivity

This is it but I feel like I’m forgetting something
